What's Happening?

It’s Time for Smokefree Casinos!

The fight to close the casino loophole that treats casino workers differently than every other worker in New Jersey—and forces employees to choose between their health and a paycheck—is gaining steam.

With your help, we can get this done. Your contribution provides a voice for smokefree air in the state capitol, urging lawmakers to finally close the casino loophole and stop forcing frontline casino workers from choosing between their health and a paycheck.

Casino Workers Speak Out

Thousands of casino employees saying ENOUGH, we are not an exemption, we are people who deserve to breathe smokefree air!
Atlantic City is one of the largest U.S. gaming markets and going smokefree would not only save lives, but signal to the industry that 100% smokefree air is the standard.

Follow Our Progress

ANR is playing a leading role, in support of courageous casino workers who are speaking out like never before, on the campaign to eliminate indoor smoking from Atlantic City casinos to protect employees and guests – and we’re making significant progress. Bipartisan bills in both legislative chambers gain new co-sponsors almost every week, growing to unprecedented support for the effort that has strong support from New Jersey voters. Governor Phil Murphy has also repeatedly said he’d sign such legislation once it reaches his desk. With a broad coalition that is keeping attention on this issue, we are optimistic that we will overcome casino industry scare tactics and advance the legislation this session.
