Traci Kennedy has been fighting for smokefree air since she she testified at her first City Council meeting as a high school student. In her current role as the Midwest States Strategist for the Americans Nonsmokers' Rights Foundation, she works in a challenging 13 state territory at the local and statewide level to protect all employees from secondhand smoke at work. Her career started at the University of Missouri in the Department of Student Life. She spent a brief time working in health information technology building the state’s electronic medical exchange network. Kennedy is passionate about the power of coalition building and grassroots policy change to impact population health.
When not crusading for public health, Ms. Kennedy pursues her love for travel to meet new places and people as well as enjoying adventures with friends and family.
